a great show!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to thank you so much again for coming to the show last night at Bank Street Coffee House! I know some of you weren't able to stay all night, but it was a pleasure all the same. I was accompanied by my good friend Frank Brocklehurst (bass) and Kola Aina (guitar and vocals). We had a great time playing music and can't wait to do it again!

My favorite part, I must say, is kids making art. Music, art and coffee, always a winning combination!

Here are more pictures from last night's show, taken by my good friend, Victor Suwatch. I don't know if this facebook link will work, but let's give it a try... I'll also post some videos sometime this week to my facebook and youtube page.

Upcoming shows? Not too many, but I will be playing this coming Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the Village Center for the Arts in New Milford. They're a wonderful non-profit organization near and dear to my heart and they're having an all day open house. Please do stop by that day! I will also be playing in part of an all-women's art show at the Freight Street Art Gallery in Waterbury, CT on March 24. Details to follow.

In the meantime, I'm all rolled up with other things! I recently had my first release on EnMass Music with the renowned DJ and producer, Randy Boyer for a song I wrote a few years ago, Always Missing. I'm also working on finishing up this latest album (hopefully to release by May 2012), and writing new material for the other band I'm in, Them Damn Hamiltons. So, lots of things are going on. But please feel free to get in touch, and I hope I'll see you soon!

freewritessss

really i do miss writing just for the sake of writing, haven't done it in a long time, haven't done it didn't want to accidentally offend someone in accidentals with the wrong notes because i didn't learn my scales. i think i'm in love with the idea of fame and being a skinny little thing but don't want to do what it takes to get there. it's nice / stop block / if they're happy and they know it i will clap my hands because i'm glad i was not the right one and that is great because i'm in lovelove! didn't know that could happen love. didn't know it was an accent love. so many things to love dove and give up what / my parents said that i could not go back or i was whack and i think if it was a rap i would not be a good rapper but she said the devil poisoned my brain and all i could do was laugh because that's not a good line for a song but i do like the poison part of it. i think the posing is not so good though and i could be a nicer person. in this flea was such a brilliant writer and i miss her words that drip and flow and seem to make more sense then anything because she doesn't give a shit she just writes to write and that's the most real thing i hope she is happy nowadays

Killer (2/18/12 Demo)

yesterday i was being a total asshole to my mate because i was mad at myself for some stupid reason. not a cool thing to do. and he was so nice about it, too. anyways, it prompted me to write this song.

everyone's got an anger inside their blood, waiting to let it out
dangerous—fire can burn you and bury you in the ground

hey, this is a choice, you know
you can blame nobody else

everyone's got a killer inside their blood, waiting to get it out
cut your throat, bleed you out, cut you up, bury you in the ground

a puffin riding a narwhal clubbing a baby seal

hands down, this is one of the most bizarre (but fun) requests i've ever received as a designer or artist. of course it comes from my sister, who happens to share my weird, twisted sense of humor.

my sister is the executive officer of her ship, serving in the US Coast Guard. if you ever had the impression that all military personnel are stone-cold hard-asses, i guess you've never met my sister or her crew. this was my design brief:

Hey Parker, do you think you could design a cute cartoon picture of a puffin riding a narwhal? I know you must think this is a strange request. My crew, for some reason has become obsessed with the idea of a puffin riding a narwhal and keeps talking about making a t-shirt of it. You can tell that we have girls on our ship because of the crazy conversations that most normal male crews don't have.
For example:
Me: What color shirt did you want?
Joscelyn: Powder blue. very artic looking. perfect for a puffin riding a narwhal, clubing a baby seal.
Me: Oh. but i don't think the guys would wear that.
Trevor: I would totally wear that!
Joscelyn: Yeah, look at BMC over there (he is wearing a bright blue t-shirt)
Me: I stand corrected.
Trevor: Yeah, we should wear them during morning sports.
We should make Rueben shirts too! (Rueben is the resident stuffed animal toy on the ship)
Me: Hm.. and what color should those be?
Trevor: Pink of course.
Me: what a strange crew we have...

i had a lot of fun with this one. if they ever get those t-shirts made, i hope they'll take a group picture so i can post it here! :)

whatever

time moves very fast
and also very slow
it seems not to care where it goes
i said this is it
i have to go my own way

if i had to give up everything i knew
to be with you
some would say that i'm a fool
but they don't know you like i know you
this i what i choose

i try too hard to say simple words
i don't care what anyone else thinks though
not anymore

what's done is done

what if i make some big mistake and it's too late to say i'm sorry
i didn't mean to hurt anyone
i spoke too soon
tried to tell you all that i felt all at one time like an honest fool

your arms were crossed
your fingers locked onto the edges of the table
what else is there to think or say
you got so quiet
as if i was trying to make a joke at your expense
at cruel and tragic times

there will be time you spend deciding
if what i do fits what you're used to
but what's done is done
what's done is done

Abigail Williams

i'm really excited about this new song that we've written with our band, Them Damn Hamiltons! i've been trying to write in a different style and in the third-person. the lyrics are loosely based on Arthur Miller's play, The Crucible, written from the perspective of Abigail Williams, the story's 17-year old antagonist.

Abigail Williams
after we buried our old man in his grave
we called up the minister to count up the safe
he said, grab your daughters up and cover their eyes
their weakers souls are liable to wander in time

heaven’s calling for you, hell is calling you too
don’t you dare turn away lest satan poison you
all we count are the days ‘til we know we are saved
at least that’s what you will do if you know what’s at stake

all eyes and flowers on my best sunday dress
i sat by the farmer with a tentative breath
as every man and woman put their hands up to pray
i felt his eyes upon me in a devilish gaze

heaven’s calling for you, hell is calling you too
don’t you dare turn away lest satan poison you
all we count are the days ‘til we know we are saved
at least that’s what you will do if you know what’s at stake

how did he get his wife to walk in the fields
an idle thought that passed me while he dug in his heels
he said we would dance upon Elizabeth’s grave
and damned be the Marys if they gave us away

heaven’s calling for you, hell is calling you too
don’t you dare turn away lest satan poison you
all we count are the days ‘til we know we are saved
at least that’s what you will do if you know what’s at stake

no man incarnate can conceal his sin
and i possessed him and invited him in
he kept us a secret ‘til the witches arrived
and that was the moment all the blame became mine

heaven’s calling for you, hell is calling you too
don’t you dare turn away lest satan poison you
all we count are the days ‘til we know we are saved
at least that’s what you will do if you know what’s at stake

not so interested in renting from this guy after reading this

Hello.

Thanks for your response. GOD bless you for your interest about my House, Yes is still available for rent.. I am renting this House to a capable and also responsible and neat person or family who has the fear of GOD and treat my House as his or her own... Presently I and  my wife have work for USAID. USAID works in agriculture, democracy & governance, economic growth, the environment, education, health, global partnerships, and humanitarian assistance in more than 100 countries to provide a better future for all. USAID still faces an uncertain future. In many developing countries, HIV/AIDS and health issues are having a dramatic impact on social cohesiveness and economic strength, blocking the very development goals we seek. Virtually all the new democracies in the world today are fragile; others are democracies more in name than substance. Nearly a quarter of the people living in developing countries, or about one billion people, live in absolute poverty.. There are a host of other threats - ranging from terrorism to infectious disease and violent conflict - that challenge us and the developing nations we seek to help. USAID efforts to foster world-wide economic growth and increased trade, and tackling cross-border issues such as the spread of HIV/AIDS and trafficking in persons... To safe the life of peoples from primitive death that claims the souls of younger ages as a result of casual sex gave us transfer to West Africa and we will be away for 5 years or more and this is why we are actually renting out our House,so if you are interested and will take good care of our House then we will be ready to accept you as our future tenant and family friend. If you really impress me by taking proper good care of our House, then you will be allowed to stay as long as you wish okay.

So get back to me on how you could take care of our House or perhaps experience you have in renting Home. Hope you are okay with the price of $1000 per month/$700 for the security deposit fee? With hydro, Heat Laundry Facilities, Air Condition, Water, Electricity, Fireplace, Internet Access and so on..
