The Park—Perilous (11/25/11 Demo)

finished writing this today. it's not the greatest recording in the world, but oh well! it's still pretty amazing what just a laptop can produce nowadays.

perilous
i must figure out what to say
should occasion make our differences clear and dividing
that is consequence
preparation, perilous
what if we can't go the same way back

now i see the sun go down
i know we can both see it fading
no explaining will change the evidence
but here, our predicament is you see things i call nothing

yes, i owe you this, in a sense
you raise me up in love and kindness
who could deny this?
there are drawings all in the wind
pulling pieces of my being outward
who am i, anyway?

i wish it were that easy

i can't be blamed for the things i said when i believed in them
all thought is subject to interpretation
what i call up just brings you down
you want the best for me and all i want to do is scale the wall
